Knoxville Community Fridge Knoxville TN

The Community Fridge is a refrigerator at the restrooms located at Sam Duff Park on Chapman Hwy. The fridge was a gift from the city of Knoxville to the Homeless Community. It is maintained by the Knoxville Rainbow Library. Volunteers fill the fridge daily to leave accessible food for the Homeless and Hungry citizens. The Knoxville Rainbow Library gets their food from donations and buying it from the Second Harvest Food Bank.  4044 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville TN

Inside the Fridge

The Fridge is inside a Metal locker that is never locked.

Sign on the Fridge, Yes, to Fresh Food, and Vegetables, No to Meat, Leftovers or partially eaten, Home cooked meals, Expired or rotting food, Opened or unsealed packaged food, Alcohol and Medications. (The Knoxville Rainbow Library put items in the fridge that are single meal and snack items.)

Sign on the front of the metal locker. Community Fridge list of requirements. Take what you need, leave what you don't. No Alcohol, No meant, dairy, frozen or expired food products. Label food with the dated, Only put in food you would want to take out.
